What's deleted

When your account is deleted, we permanently delete:

• your profile: name, username, email address, date of birth and profile photo
• your sign-in details, including any Google or Apple sign-in
• the photos and videos you added to any event
• your comments, likes, reactions and tags
• your chat messages, and the photos you sent in chats
• your notifications, and your place on events' guest lists

Events you host

If an event you host has a co-host, the longest-serving co-host becomes the host and the event stays. Everyone else's photos and videos stay with it; yours are deleted.

If it has no co-host, the event is cancelled when you ask to delete your account, and its guests are told. They can save their own photos and videos until your account is deleted, when the event and its whole album are deleted too. If you'd like the album to stay, make someone a co-host before you delete your account.

What's kept

• Backups: copies of our database are kept in backups for up to about 3 months, then overwritten. We don't restore deleted accounts from them.
• Media other people saved: photos and videos that other guests saved to their phones or shared outside Capturit are out of our reach.
• Emails you've sent us, such as your deletion request.
